Harold Coffman Obituary

On Sunday, July 30, 2023, Harold Dean Coffman, 88, of Rome, Georgia, entered eternal rest. Son of the late Lester Farell and Mary Keel Coffman, he was born in the city he adored, Rome, Georgia, on September 8, 1934. His parents were the late Lester Farell and Mary Keel Coffman.

His beloved wife, Patricia Ann Coffman, and his siblings Farell Coffman, JoAnn Holbrooks, and Annette Smith predeceased him. His children Terry Williamon (Tammy), Tim Williamon (Deborah), Tommy Williamon, Mark Williamon (Ana), Steve Coffman, and Mark Coffman, as well as his daughter Tammy M Piper (Chris), are left to honor and remember his love. His memory will be carried on by his brother, Jerry Wayne Coffman, his sister, Charlotte Roberson, his sixteen beloved grandchildren, and his thirty adoring great-grandchildren.

Harold devoted his life to protecting the freedom of his country from 1954 to 1956, serving admirably in the United States Army. Significant contributions were made during his years of service, and he received numerous post-military honors, a testimony to his unwavering devotion and valor.

Harold, a man of deep faith, was devoted to God and his church, serving as a role model for his family and community. His undying devotion to his family was evident in every aspect of his existence. As a multitalented man, he also took great pleasure in horticulture, cultivating life in the soil.

A visitation to honor Harold's life will be held at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 4, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, the funeral service will promptly follow. Pastor Jerry Brandon will preside over the services as well as the interment that is to take place at the East View Cemetery. Lance, Robbie, Patrick, David, Mykel and Chris will serve as pallbearers. 

Military Honors will be presented by Shanklin-Attaway American Legion Post 5 from Rome, GA.

Harold Dean Coffman exemplified courage, faith, and affection for his family and community. Those who had the privilege of knowing him will continue to be inspired by his lasting influence.
