Hirschell Wayne Fletcher

Hirschell Wayne Fletcher Sr., 73, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at a local hospital in Rome, GA.

Hirschell was born January 31, 1946 in Dallas where he was raised by the late Erby and Opal Fletcher. He was a great husband and father and a hard worker. He owned and operated a salvage yard and mobile car crushing business in Dallas, TX, where he also met his beautiful wife Janet Hunt, they married in 1984. The couple lived in Dallas until he retired in 1998 and together moved to Rome, Georgia where they spent the last 22 years. The couple are of Christian faith and are long time members of Mt. Alto Baptist Church in Rome, GA.

Hirschell was the father to five children from previous marriages each are residents of Dallas, Texas area. His only son Hirschell Jr. preceded him in death several years ago. His four daughters are Fagelyn Self, Shelly Hanson, Angela Huddle and Shanon Zias. He has fourteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and one great grandchild. He has two brothers, Lloyd and Kenneth, and three sisters, Phyllis, Margaret and Velinda, all of which live in Texas.

A Memorial Celebration of Hirschell’s life will take place at The Christian Life Center Church in Gun Barrel, TX on Saturday, February 11th at 11:00 AM.
