Imogene Proctor Dowdy

Imogene Proctor Dowdy, age 80, of Lindale passed away Tuesday January 5, 2021 at her residence.
Imogene was born on July 1, 1940 in Floyd County, to the late John Frank Proctor and Etta Mae Williams Proctor. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel L. Dowdy; son: Alvis Dowdy; brother: Sonny Proctor; sisters: Betty Jo Pinkard, Mertle Streetman; daughter in law: Genia Timms Dowdy.
Survivors include children: Mickey (Stephanie) Dowdy, of Lindale, Michael (Genia) Dowdy, of Rome, Gayle Ann (Gary) Akins, of Lindale, Mary Jo (Alan Mitchell) Akins, David (Elizabeth) Dowdy, Carol Jean Engles; grandchildren: Jessica Amore, of Maryland, Brittany Dowdy, of Lindale, Mikey Dowdy, of Rome, Justin Dowdy, of Rome, Jessie Akins, Brandon Akins, Jeffary Akins, all of Rome, Kimberly Lowery, of Rome, Christopher Akins, of Lindale, Misty Akins, of Rome, Lena Dowdy Griffin, Reecy Dowdy, Joey Dowdy, Skylar Bates, Samantha Dowdy, DJ Fredlander; great grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday January 10, 2021 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home with Rev. Vance Styles officiating. Interment will follow in Sanders Cemetery, Cave Spring. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday January 9, 2021 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome GA. 30165.
