In Loving Memory of Jackie Arlene Fincher
November 14, 1966 – May 23, 2024
Jackie Arlene Fincher, 57, of Atalla, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024. She was born on November 14, 1966, in Rome, Georgia, to William Milton Sutton and the late Clara Elizabeth Williams. Jackie's life was filled with immeasurable love, joy, and an unshakable peace she shared with everyone around her.
Jackie's early years were marked by her deep love for her family and her community. She carried this love throughout her life, always putting others before herself. Her selflessness and compassion were a testimony to her unwavering faith in God and dedication to those she cherished most.
In addition to her mother, Jackie was predeceased by her husband, Robert Eugene Fincher, and her brother, James Milton Sutton. Despite these profound losses, Jackie remained a pillar of strength and comfort to her family.
Jackie's role as a mother and grandmother was paramount in her life. She leaves behind her son, Christopher Fincher (Kayla), and her daughter, Amber Abernathy (Joshua), who were the pride of her life. Her grandchildren, Braydon Norrell, Joshua Abernathy, Jr., Hunter Fincher, Robert Jackson Fincher, and Robert “Lil Duck” Abernathy were her greatest delight, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She is also survived by her father, William Milton Sutton, whose guidance and love shaped her into the wonderful woman she became. Her brother, Wallace “Wally Gator” Sutton (Tammy), her sisters, Sandra Craig and Melissa Sutton, and her chosen sisters, Sherry Jarrell, Rose McAdams, and Debra Daniel, will forever remember her boundless love and the joyous memories they shared.
Jackie’s fiancée, Mark Samuel Adams, was her peace, whose presence in her life abounded with everything beautiful, kind, and true.
Jackie’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and faith. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, fiancée, aunt, and friend. Her laughter, warmth, and unwavering support were gifts to all who knew her. She will always be remembered for her gentle spirit and the countless ways she enriched the lives of those around her.
Jackie will be laid to rest at Polk Memory Gardens. The pallbearers honoring her will be her father, William Sutton; her son, Christopher Fincher; her son-in-law, Joshua Abernathy; her grandson, Braydon Norrell; her grandson, Joshua Abernathy, Jr.; her brother, Wally Sutton; and Keith Dostart. The honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons Hunter Fincher and Robert Fincher and her nephews, Timothy Brown, and David Bergeron.
The visitation will be held Friday, May 31, 2024, from 10:00AM till the Funeral Service hour at 12:00PM at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. Pastor Mark Benning will be officiating.
