In Loving Memory of James Terry Cordle
November 14, 1966 - August 30, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Terry Cordle, aged 56, on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Born on November 14, 1966, in Rome, Georgia, he was the cherished son of Billy John and Mary Elizabeth Patterson Cordle.
James was a pillar of strength, compassion, and generosity. Beyond his professional life as a hardworking mechanic, James made a lasting impact on everyone around him. He was not just a mechanic by trade but a mechanic of hearts, fixing a little piece of everyone who was fortunate enough to cross paths with him.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Billy John and Mary Elizabeth Patterson Cordle, and his sister, Pattie Lynn Rogers. His memory lives on through his loving family, including his sons, James Keith Cordle and Roger Dewayne Callahan; his daughter, Lisa Adkins; his brothers, Sammy Cordle (Kay) and Johnny Cordle (Kathy); and his sisters, Lisa Brownlow (Brent), Sharie Swann (Steve), Susan Brown (Rust), and Annette Brown (Dale).
A great fisherman by passion, James’s idea of a perfect day was a quiet afternoon by the water, baiting hooks and reeling in fish, all while sharing stories and doling out life advice. For James, fishing was never about the catch; it was about the companionship and the serenity of nature, the calm waters reflecting the depth of his own character.
James was known for extending a helping hand to anyone in need. His love knew no bounds, and his compassion had no limits. A good friend to many, he left an everlasting impression with his simple acts of kindness, his enduring patience, and his willingness to put others before himself.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support in this challenging time.
James Terry Cordle was not just a man; he was a sanctuary for all who knew him. As the gears of life turn forward, the wheels of our hearts are a little heavier without James. He will be sorely missed, yet his legacy of love, friendship, and genuine goodness will forever be etched in the memories of all who knew him.
Rest in peace, James Terry Cordle. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure; you are loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
