In Loving Memory of
James Larry "Jim" Hardin
May 3, 1954 – November 21, 2024
Mr. James Larry “Jim” Hardin, age 70, of Rome, Georgia, departed this life on Thursday, November 21, 2024. Jim was born on May 3, 1954, to the late Cecil Edward Hardin and Gladys Magdaline Hedden Hardin. He brought light, laughter, and love to those fortunate enough to know him throughout his vibrant life.
Jim was a devoted family man, a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He is preceded in death by the love of his life and his steadfast partner Edna Hardin. He is also preceded by his brother, Raymond Hardin, and his sister, Carolyn "Jean" Delevie, with whom he shared an unbreakable sibling bond.
Jim leaves behind his treasured daughter, Holly Hardin, and her fiancé, Clay Momon, who brought him immense joy. He found great pride and delight in his two grandchildren, Asher Mumon and Silas Mumon, who were his pride and joy. Jim is also survived by his devoted brother, Steve Hardin, and Steve's wife, Dianne, as well as his nieces, Lindsey Hardin and Niki Delevie. Jim’s love extended to his great-nephews Pike Delevie, Jacoby Delevie, and Axle Trammel, whom he adored.
For many years, Jim served his community through his work at the Northwest Georgia Housing Authority until health challenges required his early retirement. A man of simple yet profound joys, Jim found solace and happiness in nature. He loved fishing and spent countless hours on the water, embracing the quiet beauty of Georgia’s lakes. Boating was another favorite pastime, and Jim was never happier than when he was surrounded by the tranquility of nature.
Jim also had a deep love for animals, especially his cats and his loyal dog, Bo, who were his constant companions and provided him with comfort and joy.
Jim's life was a testament to the power of love, simplicity, and family. His kind heart and gentle spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
In accordance with his wishes, Jim will be cremated. While his physical presence will be greatly missed, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.
Rest in peace, Jim, in the embrace of those who have gone before, and in the enduring love of those you leave behind.
Parnick Jennings Good Shepherd Funeral Home has been entrusted with overseeing the arrangements.
