James (Jimmy) Clonch Obituary

In Loving Memory of James (Jimmy) Morgan Clonch

September 23, 1961 – October 29, 2025

James (Jimmy) Morgan Clonch, of Adairsville, Georgia, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the age of sixty-four. He was born in Columbus, Georgia, on September 23, 1961, to James Clonch and Hazel Parker Clonch, whose love and lessons shaped the steady, hardworking, and deeply grounded man he became.

Jimmy lived close to the land and found his truest peace beneath open skies. Nature was not a backdrop for his life, it was his sanctuary. Whether casting a line across a mountain stream or watching the mist rise over a still lake at dawn, James felt most at home surrounded by God’s handiwork. He was an avid trout fisherman, patient and content to wait in the quiet rhythm of the water, knowing that the stillness itself was often the best part of the catch.

Hunting season brought him a sense of renewal, not for the sport alone, but for the solitude and reverence it offered. He understood the cycles of life and the balance of creation. The woods, the creeks, the whispering wind all spoke to something sacred in him. He could walk through a forest and see stories written in every tree and stone, and those who joined him on those walks soon learned to see the world through his eyes.

At home, Jimmy’s workshop was his kingdom. There, amid the scent of sawdust and oil, his hands were never idle. He could fix nearly anything, machines, furniture, fences, or hearts that had fallen heavy. His tools bore the marks of years of use, and every project he completed carried his signature patience and precision. Family and friends often brought him their broken things, confident that he would find a way to mend them. More often than not, he did.

Jimmy valued hard work, quiet evenings, and good company. He loved deeply and gave freely, often showing his affection through acts of service by helping a neighbor, sharing a meal, or simply showing up when he was needed most.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shelia Clonch; his parents, James and Hazel Clonch; and his brothers, David Kiker and Steve Kiker. Though the ache of their absence was great, the thought of reunion now brings comfort to those he leaves behind. He is survived by his devoted son, Parker Clonch, and Parker’s wife, Kelsey, along with several other dear family members and friends who will carry his memory forward in their hearts and their stories.

Services to honor James’s life will be held at the Good Shepherd Funeral Home chapel on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m., followed by the memorial service at 3:00 p.m., with Chaplain Alan Fuller officiating.

James will be remembered for his steady hands, his quiet strength, and his deep love for the simple, enduring beauty of this world. Those who knew him best will look to the mountains, to the streams, and to the amber light of a fading afternoon; and there, they will find him.

Good Shepherd Funeral Home is honored to have been entrusted with the arrangements.
