Janice Waters Tibet Beck Obituary

In Loving Memory of
Janice Marie Waters Tibbets Beck
November 26, 1950 – February 18, 2026

Janice Marie Waters Tibbets Beck, age 75, peacefully departed this life to join her Heavenly Father in her eternal home on February 18, 2026. She spent the last few decades of her life in Rome, Georgia, though the greater part of her life was lived in Claxton, Georgia.

Janice was born on November 26, 1950, at the Griffin Clinic in Claxton. From an early age, she carried a warm spirit and gentle nature—qualities that remained a defining part of who she was throughout her life.

She faithfully attended church whenever the doors were open and found great joy in her deep love for music, especially Southern Gospel. Her faith and love for worship were central to her life and brought her much comfort and happiness.

Janice shared a profound bond and mutual admiration with the love of her life, Oresto Perez. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Kate Waters of Claxton, as well as several other beloved relatives. She shared a special and cherished bond with her beloved sister, Katherine Tatum, and her brother-in-law, Ed. She was also especially close to her Uncle Douglas and Aunt Meredith Waters, who held a meaningful place in her life.

Janice leaves behind a large and loving extended family who will miss her dearly. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Renee Waters; her siblings, George Tibbets (Buddy) and Jacob Weeks; two nieces; five great-nieces; three great-nephews; four great-great-nephews; two great-great-nieces; one great-great-great-niece; three first cousins; six cousins once removed; and five second cousins.

Though her passing leaves a deep sense of loss, the love she shared and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Janice will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and the warmth she so freely gave to everyone she met. Her gentle presence touched many lives, and her legacy of love will remain with her family and friends forever.

Good Shepherd Funeral Home is honored to serve the family. A celebration of life will be held to honor and remember Janice.

Her family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the many friends who showed love and kindness to Janice and her family throughout her life. They pray that all who knew her will carry her warmth and beautiful memory forward as a lasting reminder of the love and light she brought into the world.
