Jason Lance Sanford, 46, of Rome, GA, passed away on August 14, 2024. Born on September 5th, 1977, in Rome, GA, Jason was the cherished son of the late Jack Lamar Sanford and Annie Lee Sanford and his late beloved brother, Eddie Lamar Sanford.
A devoted Freemason, Jason served with dedication as Tyler for Cherokee Lodge No. 66 and took pride in his role as a Sir Knight with the Knights of Templar. His service extended to Moose International, Canton Moose Lodge 2129, where he was actively involved. Jason’s unwavering commitment to these organizations highlighted his profound sense of community and generosity.
He attended Pepperell High School in Lindale, Georgia. Jason’s passions included dirt track car racing and jujitsu. He was always eager to lend a helping hand and had a warm and welcoming nature, rarely ever meeting a stranger. His love for animals was evident in his every interaction, reflecting his compassionate and caring nature. Jason was an avid Movie buff. Known for his enthusiastic spirit, Jason was Elvis Presley’s biggest fan and is now rocking in Heaven, surely teaching the angels how to sing “In the Ghetto.”
He is survived by his loving fiancée, Cindy Highfield and his best friend “Dewey,” his God daughter, Gracie Taylor Blair, his sister, Regina Sanford, and her life partner, Dane Eldridge; his sister-in-law, Leigh Ann Sanford; his niece, Destiny Sanford; his nephew, William Sanford; and his aunts and uncles: Marie and Daryl Hodges, Margaret Hammock, Linda and Wayne Blair, and Charlene Hyde.
