Jean Hardin Obituary

Ms Hardin was born July 13, 1937 in Floyd County a daughter of the late John Henry Holbert and Hattie Christine Price Holbert. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Ms Hardin was most recently employed at Sam's club where she was known as "the shrimp lady" for demoing shrimp. She had also worked for many years for Old Fashioned foods at ITT Lester's and Plant Hammond and Plant Bowen. Her neighbors knew her for always working in her yard and her pretty flowers. She loved to be outdoors. Ms Hardin was preceded in death by a brother Harold Holbert and a sister Evelyn Holbert Green.

Survivors include daughter Sheila (John) Hayes, Rome and son William Hardin, Rome; brothers Robert Holbert, Kingston; Johnny (Martha) Holbert, Calhoun; sisters Sue Ford, Plainville; Barbara Penson, Rome; Joan Overby, Dalton; grandchildren, Zachary Hayes, Rome and Layton Hayes, Athens, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Saturday March 12, 2016 at Parnick Jennings, Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev Phil Blanton and Paul Moses officiating. Interment will follow at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until the hour of the service on Saturday at Parnick Jennings, Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave, Rome, Ga 30165.

Pallbearers include her nephews Brian Holbert, Russell Holbert, Lennie Holbert, Harold (Junior) Holbert, Keith Holbert and Johnny Ford.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship Baptist church or The Children's Miracle Network.

Parnick Jennings Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
