In Loving Memory of Jeannette Elaine Dixon Stansell
February 4, 1955 – April 7, 2026
With reverence befitting a life so gently yet powerfully lived, we remember Jeannette Elaine Dixon Stansell, of Ringgold, Georgia, who laid down the cares of this world on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at the age of seventy-one. Born in Tift County on February 4, 1955, to the late JW and Marie Dixon, she entered this life not with fanfare, but with a quiet, luminous grace that would, in time, become her signature; softly shaping every life she touched.
Jeannette was a woman of steadfast devotion, whose love knew no boundary of blood, no limitation of circumstance. Though she bore no children of her own body, she walked this earth as a mother in its truest and most sacred form. She gathered the weary, the joyful, the growing, and the searching alike, drawing them into the shelter of her care. With tender wisdom and a heart that gave without measure, she nurtured generations of her children, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, not as borrowed blessings, but as her own beloved inheritance. Each one was known, cherished, and held close, as though Heaven itself had entrusted them to her keeping.
She now rejoins in eternal rest those who preceded her: her beloved husband, David Wayne Stansell, whose love was her constant companion and whose memory she carried with abiding devotion; her son, Jeffery Stansell; her brothers, Al Dixon and Eddie Dixon; her sister, Nancy Dixon; and her nephews, Justin Dean, Trent Shelton and Kevin Dean. One can only imagine the sweetness of that reunion, where love, once parted, is made whole again.
Left to carry forward her radiant legacy are her son, DeWayne Stansell; her daughters, Shannon Martin and Shalene Vicente; her grandchildren, Maria Hogg, Josephine López, Andrew Lopez, and Martin Vicente; and her great-grandchildren, Jada, Layla, Stevie, BB, and Matthew, Jr. She is also lovingly remembered by her brother, Wayne Dixon; her sisters, Gail Dixon, Darlene Gilbert, and Brenda Kelly (Steve); and a host of nieces and nephews who knew the steady kindness of her hand and heart.
Jeannette’s life was adorned not with grandeur, but with faithfulness. She attended Coosa Valley Praise and Worship Center, where her spirit found both refuge and rejoicing. Through many years of diligent work at Galey & Lord and later at Mannington Mills, she carried herself with quiet dignity, earning the respect of all who labored alongside her.
Yet her truest work, the work that will outlive time, was written in love. She was a giver in the purest sense, finding her joy not in what she received, but in what she could pour into others. She gave comfort without hesitation, kindness without condition, and love without end. In her presence, people felt seen. In her care, they felt safe. In her love, they found something rare and enduring.
Her life stands as a sacred hymn of gentle sacrifice, steadfast grace, and a motherhood that transcended the bounds of flesh and became something eternal. And though she now rests beyond our sight, the imprint of her love remains alive in every life she nurtured, echoing softly in the hearts she shaped, and shining still in the legacy she leaves behind.
Jeanette's Memorial Service will be held this Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 1pm at Coosa Valley Praise and Worship Center, located at 9 General Ave NW Rome Ga 30165.
