In Loving Memory of Jerry Michael Bowman
February 9, 1961 – January 27, 2026
Jerry Michael Bowman, of Rome, Georgia, passed into eternity on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the age of sixty-four. He was born on February 9, 1961, to the late Glenn and Sue F Bowman, who raised him in the quiet virtues of faith, perseverance, and honest work.
Jerry lived as a man rooted in craftsmanship and constancy. A pipefitter and plumber by trade, he spent his working years in construction, shaping what others would depend upon but rarely see. Among his proudest accomplishments was his role in helping to build the Georgia Aquarium, a lasting structure that stands as part of his earthly legacy, touched by his hands and labor.
He was a man of faith, a member of the Baptist church, and found comfort and fellowship in attending services. When not at work or church, Jerry delighted in the open road astride his motorcycle, in the steady patience of fishing, and in the thrill of competition found in NASCAR racing. He followed Alabama football with loyal devotion, carrying that same steadfast spirit into every aspect of his life.
Jerry is survived by his beloved daughter, Taylor; his two cherished grandchildren; his significant other, LeAnne Shaw Bowman; his two brothers; and many family members and friends who were strengthened by his presence and will feel his absence keenly.
Above all else, Jerry’s heart was bound to service and companionship, a truth reflected in the deep bond he shared with his support cat, Benji. In Jerry’s passing, Benji grieves the loss of the one who was his constant friend, protector, and source of comfort.
To honor Jerry’s life we will have a Visitation on Tuesday, February 3, at 12:00PM till Funeral.Service hour at 2:00PM at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel.
Good Shepherd Funeral Home is deeply honored to have been entrusted with the arrangements.
