Jerry Joe Cash, Sr., a beloved resident of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the age of 82. He was born on June 12, 1941, in Atlanta, Georgia, to his loving parents, Thomas Wilburn Cash and Ethel Partridge Cash.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Joey Cash; his brothers, Jimmy Cash and Jesse Cash; and his sister, Shirley Studdard. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories in the hearts of his family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his devoted wife, Becky Cash; his son, David Cash, and daughter-in-law, Lori; his stepson, Dru Axley; his stepdaughters, Misti Corley and her husband Mike, and Kim Bachman; his adored grandchildren, Michael Shillin, Jacob Cash, Emily Cash, Zoey Corley, and Elsa Axley; and his brother, Robert Cash.
Jerry's life was marked by his service to his country, as he proudly served in the United States Army for three years. His time in the Army instilled in him resilience and discipline, qualities that would shape his successful career. After leaving the military, Jerry found his calling at Integrated Products, where his dedication and hard work led to rapid promotions, eventually reaching the position of Plant Manager. He remained with the company for an impressive twenty-five years.
Jerry's remarkable adaptability and excellent communication skills, honed during his time in the Army, paved the way for a fulfilling career at Mohawk Industries. His commitment to excellence and leadership qualities made a lasting impact on those he worked with.
A celebration of Jerry's life will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, located at 2750 Shorter Avenue, Rome, Georgia 30165. The United States Army honors service will commence at 6:30 PM, paying tribute to Jerry's dedicated service to his country.
Jerry Joe Cash, Sr. will forever be remembered for his service, resilience, and the love he shared with his family and friends. He leaves a legacy of strength, commitment, and enduring love that will be cherished for generations to come.
