Jerry Wayne Fowler, 74, passed away on Tuesday, January 17. 2023. He was born to Loyd B. Fowler and Ruth Morris Fowler in Rome, Georgia on June 22, 1948.
Never one to waste time. Jerry met and married his beloved wife, Imogene Teems on June 6, 1969, shortly after graduating from Pepperell High School in 1968. His first job out of high school was with the Galey and Lord textile plant where he helped manufacture textiles that would later be used in the mass production of cotton casuals, denim, and corduroy. Upon the closing of the Galey and Lord textile plant, Jerry quickly obtained employment with the Rome Transit Department, where he remained until he retired.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Ruth Fowler, his brother Loyd B. Fowler, Jr., and his nephew Jody Fowler. He is survived by his wife Imogene, his son Jamie Fowler (Melanie), his daughter Sherry Dempsey (Chris), his grandchildren Keith Dempsey (Sara), Heather Bennett (Trentidy), Jake Fowler, Grayson Fowler, and Ansleigh Cox. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren Kaden Lackey, Kylie Dempsey, and Brooklyn Bennett. his sister Diane Moon, his niece Debbie Smith (Tim), and his great-niece Kaylee Fortune (Seth), as well as a myriad of cousins.
Pallbearers will include Keith Demprey, Trentidy Bennett, Chris Cox, Todd West, Clint Helton, Nathan Cook, Nathan Patterson, Lamar Teems and Shawn Cook.
The family will hold a visitation from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with a funeral service at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 21, 2023 following interment at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The Shannon Lodge #100 F.&A.M will perform the Masonic Funeral Rites to honor Jerry Fowler for his service and works. Rev Rick Jacobs and Rev Dewey Atchley will be officiating and Lawana Reeves will delight us with her voice.
