Jerry Wiseman Obituary

In Loving Memory of Jerry David Wiseman
1948 - 2024

We sorrowfully announce the passing of Jerry David Wiseman, a remarkable man whose journey on this earth transitioned to a heavenly sojourn at the age of 75. Jerry entered this world in 1948, born to the late David and Ann Wiseman in the charming city of Rome, Georgia, where he grew into a man of honor, love, and profound kindness.

Jerry's legacy is carried on through his beloved wife of many years, Debbie Wiseman, who stood by him as his partner in every aspect of life, sharing countless memories and moments of unconditional love. He was a father like no other to his children, Michael Cooper, Gretchen Brock, and Claudie, instilling in them the values of integrity, compassion, and resilience. Jerry's joy was multiplied with the birth of each of his grandchildren, Austin Biddy, Raegan Biddy, Annalis Brock, and Madison Leah Cooper, who became the sparkle in his eyes and the endless beams of his sun.

A man of many passions, Jerry's love for horses knew no bounds. He was an avid horseman and rider, sharing a special bond with his treasured steed, Sysco. The open fields and trails were his sanctuary, where he felt most at peace alongside nature and the companionship of his horses.

Jerry's patriotism was as steadfast as his love for his family. A proud United States Marine veteran, he served his country with valor and dignity, always holding the good old US of A close to his heart. His service reflected his deep commitment to the principles of freedom and courage.

To celebrate Jerry's extraordinary life and to honor his memory, services will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at the Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, located at 2750 Shorter Avenue, Rome, Georgia 30165. Family, friends, and those whose lives Jerry touched are invited to join in the visitation of remembrance from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with the funeral service following at 8:00 PM.  Chaplain Alan Fuller will be officiating.

Jerry David Wiseman's life was a beacon of love, honor, and joy. As we bid him farewell, let us carry forward the light he has left in our hearts, remembering him not for his departure, but for the incredible journey he shared with us all.

The family has entrusted Parnick Jennings Good Shepherd Funeral Home with the arrangements, ensuring that Jerry's farewell is as dignified and respectful as the life he led.
