In Loving Memory of Jesse B. Ashley

Jesse B. Ashley,age 72, of Silver Creek, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025. His story began in Rome, Georgia, where he was born on October 9, 1953, to the late JC and Bertha Ashley. From those early days, Jesse grew into a man marked by quiet strength, steady faith, and a deep appreciation for life’s simplest, truest pleasures.

Jesse is survived by his brothers, Dale and Dinky Ashley; his sisters, Beverly Sisson (JB), Jean Mathis (Roger), and Edna Sisson; along with a host of nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, JC and Bertha Ashley, his brother, Jody Ashley, and his sister, Riter Dowdy (George), each of whom helped shape the foundation of the family he held so dear.

Though of non-denominational faith, Jesse found spiritual home and fellowship in simple devotion and daily lived belief. For over thirty years, Jesse worked as a supervisor at Coosa Bakery, dedicating himself to his craft with the same reliability and modest pride that defined him in every area of life.

Jesse enjoyed fishing, often finding peace beside still water with nothing but time and a line to cast. He loved sitting by the creek bank, letting the sounds of nature settle over him like a familiar hymn. He delighted in visiting with his family, sharing stories and laughter that wove him ever tighter into their lives. Whether working in his yard, tending to the land he knew so well, or resting on his back porch at the close of a long day, Jesse embraced a life rich with small joys. And always nearby was his loyal dog, Coot, whose companionship brought him comfort and warmth.

Services to honor Jesse’s life will be held at Reverence Church, located at 554 Harmony Road Southeast, Aragon, Georgia 30104.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, December 9, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM, on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and on Thursday beginning at 9:00 AM until the funeral hour.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the Church with David Morris, and Dalton Sisson officiate. Jeffrey Dowdy will speak.

Escorting Jesse to his final resting place at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery will be pallbearers Chancey Ashley, Chad Dowdy, Eric Watson, Chris Ashley, Grayson Watson, Kyle Ashley, and Jordon Ashley.
