In Loving Memory of JoAnn Justice Shaw
September 26, 1939 – February 19, 2024
JoAnn Justice Shaw, a cherished pillar of our community in Rome, Georgia, departed this world on Monday, February 19, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving behind reminiscences of love, faith, and resilience.
Born to the late Loyd and Arnice Justice on a serene September day in 1939, JoAnn's life was a testament to the strength of family bonds and the power of faith. Her early years in Rome laid the foundation for a life filled with joy, challenges, and unwavering commitment to her loved ones.
JoAnn was predeceased by her soulmate, Bobby Wayne Shaw, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and adventures. Their love story remains a beacon of devotion for their family. She was also greeted in heaven by her grandson, Justin Wayne Soulis, brother Eugene Justice, and sister, Rosa Lee Pierce, whose memories she held close to her heart.
She leaves behind a legacy through her children, Kenneth Wayne Shaw, Ronnie Alan Shaw, and Vicki Lynne Shaw; her grandchildren, Kristin Lynn Dever and Jenna Layne Wilson; and her great-grandchildren, Kira Soulis, Evan Wilson, Eliza Wilson, Julia Wilson, Logan Dever, and Taylor Dever. Her brother, Loyd Justice, Jr., continues to carry the family torch with grace.
A woman of deep faith, JoAnn's commitment to her Baptist beliefs guided her through life's ups and downs. Her spirit was as resolute as her passion for the Atlanta Braves and NASCAR racing. She shared countless moments of joy and excitement with her family and friends as she cheered on her favorite driver and team.
JoAnn's love for her family was her guiding light. She found joy in life's simple pleasures at the lakehouse, surrounded by nature and those she held dear. Her absence leaves a void that can never be filled, but her memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration.
As we prepare to celebrate JoAnn's remarkable life, details of the service will be shared, inviting all who knew her to honor her. In her memory, may we all find the strength to carry forward the values she cherished most: love, faith, and family. JoAnn Justice Shaw's legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved her, a testament to a life well-lived.
