Johnnie Lee Higgins

Mr. Johnnie Lee Higgins, age 93 of Rome, GA. passed away on November 27, 2022.

A native of Fort Payne, AL Mr. Higgins was happily married to his wife of 64 years, Pearlie Beth Higgins until she passed away on August 17, 2022. He was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church in Rome, GA and proudly served in the Army and was an honored member of U.A. Local 72 Pipefitter where he worked as a welder. He enjoyed working in his welding shop, gardening, fishing and watching football and baseball, his favorite teams were Atlanta Braves and Alabama. He called Seven Hills Place Memory Care Community home during the latter years of his life. 

He was also preceded in death by his parents Rufus Coy Higgins and Martha Azzie Higgins.

Survivors include his daughter, Beverly Higgins, his sons Burton Higgins, Brent Higgins and his grandson Cody Higgins.

The family will receive friends and family at Good Shepherd Funeral Home for visitation on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 11:00AM till 12:00PM, Funeral Service will be at 12:00PM and following a private burial at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens located at 2749 Shorter Ave. NW Rome, GA 30165. Rev. Steve Glosson officiating.
