Joyce C Dunagan

Joyce C. Dunagan, 90 of Rome, Georgia passed from this world into the Arms of Jesus on May 14, 2023, after a continuing decline in health. She was born on September 9, 1932, in Bartow County Georgia. Always putting the health and care of her family first, she heard and answered the call to be a stay-at-home mother and forsook a career outside the home. Joyce was a devoted wife and mother who found absolute joy in caring for her family. She recognized her need for a savior early in life and being of Baptist Faith, she trusted her soul to Jesus Christ many years ago.

In addition to her husband of 54 years Paul Dunagan and her parents Thomas and Bessie Cantrell, Joyce will be reunited in heaven with her brothers Edwin Harris William Cantrell, and Jody Cantrell.

Joyce is survived by her children, Paula (Ryan) Ross of Dallas Georgia, Jeff (Debbie) Dunagan of Rome, Georgia, and Cathy Trapp of Rome, Georgia. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Brandon Trapp of Rome, Georgia, Rachel (Marcus) Dempsey of Decatur, Georgia, and great-grandson Ezra Dempsey. Joyce is also survived by her sisters Betty Mulkey of Gainesville, Florida, Bobby (Ruth) Cantrell of Lee Summit, Missouri, Gloria Hubbard of Cartersville, Georgia, and Jean Nolan of Cartersville, Georgia, along with several nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Floyd Memory Gardens. Bryan Ross will be officiating.
