With profound sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Kathryn Weaver Floyd, aged 91, on December 30, 2023, in Rome, Georgia. Born on April 26, 1932, in Chattooga County to the late Sydnor Weaver and Aliene Josephine Hammond Weaver, Kathryn's life was an illustration of strength, love, and unwavering spirit.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Troy E. Floyd, Sr., and her parents, Kathryn's legacy continues through her loving family. She is survived by her sons, Troy Floyd, Jr. (Wendy) and Richard Floyd; her daughters, Sheila Jackson (Jerry) and Kathy Floyd Flemister; her cherished grandchildren, Donna Jackson, Tracy Parker, Jesse Jackson, Michael Floyd, Jason Flemister, Tyler Floyd, Katie Lewis, and Patrick Floyd; and her many great-grandchildren.
Kathryn's life was a rich tapestry of experiences and passions. Her retirement years were joyfully spent embracing the roles of a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Kathryn's early loss of her father instilled in her a deep appreciation for the blessings of family and the gift of time spent with loved ones.
A passionate Atlanta Braves enthusiast, Kathryn's fervor for the game was infectious. Her green thumb was evident in the vibrant garden she tended with love, reflecting her passion for the natural beauty of flowers. Kathryn's creative talents shone brightly in her exceptional quilting and sewing skills, which she pursued with both skill and affection. Her beloved dog, Precious, was a constant source of joy and companionship.
Kathryn's life will be celebrated and remembered on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM with a Memorial Service at Good Shepherd Funeral Home located at 2750 Shorter Ave NW, Rome, GA 30165.
