Kenneth Clark Obituary

In Loving Memory of Kenneth Eugene Clark
June 2, 1932 - October 29, 2023

A beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Kenneth Eugene Clark, 91, of Rome, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 29, 2023. Born on June 2, 1932, in Plainville, Georgia, to Otis and Annie Laura (Chastain) Clark, Kenneth lived a life enriched by dedication, love, and a deep sense of community.

Kenneth married the love of his life, Loretta Chambers, and they enjoyed countless cherished moments together until her passing in July 2013. Through highs and lows, their bond remained unbreakable, a foundation for their loving family.

Gifted with natural agility and a knack for mechanical problem-solving, Kenneth embarked on a fulfilling career as a millwright with Temple-Inland. For over four decades, he exemplified professionalism, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues. His skilled hands and quick thinking made him an invaluable asset, contributing to a legacy of craftsmanship and dedication.

Upon retirement, Kenneth turned his attention to his favorite role of all—being a doting grandfather. Nothing brought him more joy than the laughter and smiles of his grandchildren, whether it was at family gatherings or on trips to his favorite beach. His idea of heaven on Earth was a sunny day by the ocean surrounded by his loved ones.

Kenneth cherished family traditions, especially the Christmas holidays. Inspired by this love, he found great happiness in assisting families who struggled to make their own holiday season special. The joy he brought to others mirrored the love and unity he nurtured within his own family.

Awaiting him in heaven are his wife, Loretta, and his parents, Otis and Laura. He leaves behind a vibrant tapestry of family: his son, Jeff Clark (Amy); his daughter, Karen Bohannon (Jeff); grandchildren Jessica Honey (Quinton), Kacey Roberson (Ethan), Julie Watters (Jonathan), Braden Clark (Christian), and Brooke Clark (Mark); as well as great-grandchildren Briar Roberson, Joile’ Roberson, Laura Leigh Honey, Everly Clark, Knox Clark, and Clay Watters. Surviving him also are his brother, Marion Clark (Jean) of McDonough, Georgia, and several loving nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 12:00 PM, officiated by Chaplain Allan Fuller. Parnick Jennings Good Shepherd Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
