Kimberly Johnston Obituary

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Kimberly Ann Huffman Johnston, age 59, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, who left this world surrounded by love in Armuchee, Georgia. Kimberly was born to John L. and Sheila Huffman, whose enduring support and faith shaped the remarkable woman she became.

Kimberly’s life was marked by her gentle spirit, unwavering love for family, and dedication to those around her. She was predeceased by her cherished husband, Stanley Johnston, and her sister, Sonia L. Coleman, whom she now joins in eternal peace. Kimberly’s loving parents, John L. and Sheila Huffman, survive her, carrying forward her legacy of kindness and compassion.

Kimberly is also lovingly remembered by her sisters, Angela Neal (Calvin), Johnnie Guerrero (Juan), and Belinda Henegae. Her influence extends to the next generation, with nieces and nephews, Tiffany Miller (Chris), Katherine Browning (Jonathan), Samantha Ring Rose (Aaron), and Jonathan Huffman (Lauren), all of whom adored her as a second mother. Kimberly also held close to her heart her great-nieces and great-nephews: Georgia Miller, Leland Miller, Sophia Browning, Bella Browning, and Liam Browning, who will grow up with her stories and gentle lessons as part of their family legacy.

Professionally, Kimberly was dedicated to her work at Holiday Inn Express, where she served for eleven years, making countless friends and memories. Her devotion to her job, colleagues, and guests was admired by many. She was grateful to Anil and Anita Patel, her kind-hearted employers, whose support and friendship she treasured throughout her years there. Kimberly retired from the Holiday Inn Express, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, diligence, and camaraderie that her colleagues will forever cherish.

A woman of deep faith, Kimberly found peace and purpose in her Baptist beliefs. Her love for family was her guiding light, and she always placed the happiness and well-being of her loved ones above all else. She was a nurturing presence, embodying the values of love, generosity, and strength.

The family invites all who knew and loved Kimberly to a visitation on Monday, November 4, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at 2:00 PM. Both services will take place at Good Shepherd Funeral Chapel, located at 2750 Shorter Avenue, Rome, Georgia 30161. Her father, John L. Huffman, will officiate the service, and her sister, Belinda Henegae, will deliver the eulogy. Kimberly will be escorted to her final resting place at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens, by pallbearers Calvin Neal, Juan Guerrero, Chris Miller, Jonathan Huffman, Jonathan Browning, and Scott Smith.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a local animal shelter, as a tribute to Kimberly’s compassionate heart and love for animals.

As we say goodbye to Kimberly, we hold close the memory of her kind spirit, her boundless love, and her enduring faith, which touched the lives of all who knew her.
