Krystyna Wesolowski Obituary

In Memoriam: Krystyna Siedlecka Wesolowski

Krystyna Siedlecka Wesolowski, 77, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023. She was born to Anatoliusz Siedlecki and Romualda Albinska in Warsaw, Poland, on May 19, 1946.

Krystyna, the embodiment of resilience and joy, leaves behind a tapestry of lives she touched with her sassy charm and infectious laughter. Her beloved husband of 43 years, Aleksander Janusz Wesolowski, remains a testament to their undying love and shared adventures. Their bond was forged amid adversity and blossomed into decades of shared happiness. Her cherished daughter, Monika Wesolowski, continues her legacy of strength and unconditional love.

She will be fondly remembered by her cousins, Lucy, Leon, and Olivia Wackowski, whose familial ties extend beyond blood into the depths of kinship. Krystyna's life was further enriched by the steadfast companionship of close family friends Tim and Alison Land and her best friend, Pat Hagerstrand. Her neighbors, Ollie and Kathy Gaston, and her adored dog, Kaos, also mourn the loss of her irreplaceable presence.

Krystyna's journey was one of courage and determination. In Warsaw, her talents as a celebrated beautician earned her the affection and respect of many, turning clients into extended family members. The love she poured into her cooking and her passion for dogs radiated warmth and welcome in her home.

Her life took a turn towards the heroic when she and Janusz, facing the oppressive grip of Communist Poland, made the harrowing decision to seek freedom. With their daughter and little else, they embarked on a journey that showcased their extraordinary bravery. Through the trials of their escape and the uncertainties of refugee life in Austria, their spirit never wavered. America, their promised land, greeted them through the generosity of St. Peter's and St. Mary's Catholic Churches in Rome, Georgia, whose sponsorship paved their path to a new beginning.

In America, Krystyna once again flourished as a beautician, her resilience enabling her to master a new language and culture. The Wesolowskis honored their adopted homeland by embracing the philosophy of hard work and community service, becoming cherished members of the Rome, Georgia, community.

Krystyna Siedlecka Wesolowski lived by the creed that courage is not the absence of fear but the triumph over it. Her life was a beacon of hope and a testimony to the power of perseverance. She will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew her.
