Lakeisha Hills Barnes, a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away
on Saturday, July 22, 2023, in Rome, Georgia, at the age of 47. Her vibrant spirit,
compassionate nature, and love for life left an everlasting mark on all those who knew her.
Born on October 25, 1979, in Columbus, Georgia, to Gregory and Gredda Hill, Keisha grew up
to be a beautiful, vivacious woman whose inner light shone brightly. She was a dedicated
Certified Nurse’s Assistant, a career that showcased her caring nature and genuine interest in
helping others.
Keisha is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Gredda Hill, and brother, Christopher
Pollard. She leaves behind a family who cherished her deeply, including her devoted husband
Malon Kenol, and their loving children, son Zaccheus Kimani, and daughter Zyan Kimani; her
father Gregory Hill; her brother Jonathan Minson; her sisters Natanya’ Shaylon and Erica
Griggs. She also leaves behind cherished friends who were like sisters to her: Melissa Royal
and Veronica Cook.
Keisha's adventurous spirit led her to explore different cultures, and she relished the joy of
discovering new places and people. A friend to all, Keisha had a unique ability to make
connections and build relationships. She embraced every day with a childlike enthusiasm,
radiating positivity and excitement that was infectious to those around her. Her elegant style,
matched by her inner beauty, made her a shining beacon in the lives of many.
Keisha's warm heart and generous spirit were the hallmarks of her personality. Her ability to see
the joy in life, to love unconditionally, and to give of herself selflessly were qualities that
endeared her to many and made her truly extraordinary.
The family will hold a visitation on Saturday, August 5, 2023, from 1:00 – 2:30 PM, followed by a
memorial service at 2:30 PM at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, located at 2750 Shorter
Avenue, Rome, Georgia 30165.
Keisha will be profoundly missed, but her memory will continue to be celebrated by all those
who loved her. Her incredible energy, her loving spirit, and her extraordinary beauty, both inside
and out, will never be forgotten. As we mourn the loss of Keisha, we also celebrate the love,
laughter, and the remarkable life she led.
