On Saturday, August 9, 2025, Larry Larkin Henderson passed away peacefully at his beloved daughter’s home in Rome Ga, surrounded by love and family.
Larry was born on January 9, 1949, in Annapolis, Maryland, to Lena Juanita “Nita” Brookerd Henderson and Harry Lee Henderson. As a child, he lived in Japan, where he made lasting memories and cared for his pet monkey, Chico.
Larry proudly served his country in Vietnam. He was a gifted artist, poet, and craftsman, especially skilled in woodworking, and he poured his heart into everything he created. He often wrote poems and letters to those he loved, leaving behind words and drawings that will always be treasured.
He had a passion for muscle cars and simple joys like M&Ms, and grilled cheese sandwiches. His journey through life was not easy, but he found freedom in the end and was able to spend his final days at home, just as he wished.
He is survived by his children Brenetta Joye Reynolds and partner Louis Pieper, Donavan Eugene Henderson, Larry Toke Henderson and wife Alicen, Timothy James Henderson. Along with his cherished grandchildren Joseph Alexander Butler, Christian Scarber Butler, Jessica Leigh Reynolds, Justin David Henderson, Jaykob Dylan Henderson, Collin Henderson, Lonnie Toke Henderson, Zackary Henderson, Dylan Henderson, Laken Henderson, Kaylee Anna Marie Henderson, Maycee Grace Henderson, Marlee Jade Henderson and great-grandchildren Delilah Leigh Reynolds, Everleigh Larkin Butler, Emberlee Aiyana Rose Henderson, and Landon Warren Henderson. Brother Robert Lee Henderson. He will also be remembered by his dear friends Karla Henderson, Janet Henderson and Tammy Paynter.
Larry’s life and spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. And in his own words, “I love you three many muches.”
