Linda Marie Christian Cochran, aged 75, of Rome, Georgia, departed this earthly life for her heavenly home on Sunday, September 17, 2023.

Born on March 31, 1948, to the late Frank and Dorothy Vanhorn Christian (Little), Linda was a lifelong resident of Rome. She was a proud graduate of Model High School. Linda is preceded in her journey to eternal rest by her devoted parents and her beloved husband of fifty-two years, Wayne Cochran.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her loving son, Bradley Cochran; her devoted daughter, Casie Ramey and son-in-law, John; her treasured grandchild, Seth Langley; her caring brother, Wayne Christian; and her supportive sister, Brenda C. Shirley and brother-in-law, Fred.

Linda was a beacon of warmth and love, a steadfast wife and companion to Wayne, whom she was blissfully married to for over half a century. As a mother and grandmother, her nurturing spirit and wisdom were her gifts to her family, enriching their lives in countless ways. Linda had a knack for making her home a place of comfort, where her famous pound cakes were often the centerpiece of family gatherings and the subject of loving anecdotes.

A woman of profound faith, Linda was a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ. Her love for the Word of God was evident in her daily life, providing her with the strength and grace to face life’s challenges. She found immense joy in sharing moments of biblical reading and reflection with her family.

Passionate about her relationships, Linda enjoyed spending quality time with her daughter and grandson, often finding happiness in simple shopping trips, a joy that was as much about the company as it was about the activity. She also cherished late-night conversations and Netflix marathons with her son, Bradley, moments that defined the close-knit bond they shared.

While we mourn the loss of Linda, we also celebrate a life lived fully, imbued with love, faith, and an indomitable spirit that touched everyone she knew. Her legacy will continue to live on in the lives she has impacted and in the love she has sown.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the love and support they've received during this difficult time and are holding a service in honor of Linda on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. The service is from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, located at 2750 Shorter Avenue, Rome, Georgia 30165. The celebration of life will be held during the last thirty minutes of the service.
