Linda Kay Watkins Lumpkin, aged 67, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024. Linda was born to Thomas Ray Watkins and Fannie Marzee Griffith Watkins on June 19, 1955, in the beautiful state of Alabama.
Linda leaves behind her devoted husband of forty-three years, Carl Lumpkin, who stood by her side through every joy and challenge. She was the cherished mother of Carla Stanley (Mitchell)l. Linda’s legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren, Braylen Stanley and Ava Stanley, who brought immense joy and pride to her life. She is also survived by her loving siblings, Mary Casey, Thomas Watkins (Joyce), Brenda Autry (Kerry) and Fay Bennett (Billy). Linda joins her sister, Margaret Murdock, in eternal peace.
Linda’s journey through life was marked by her resilience and grace. Despite her battle with Alzheimer's disease, which led her to Winthrop Rehab in Rome, Georgia, she remained a beacon of love and warmth. Her career in textiles spanned several decades, showcasing her dedication and hard work. Outside of her professional life, Linda had a profound love for nature. She found tranquility in the outdoors and truly enjoyed gardening.
Her greatest joy, however, was her family. Linda cherished every moment with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She imparted her wisdom, love, and kindness to them, leaving a legacy of memories that will forever be treasured.
