It is with both sorrow and reverence that we bid farewell to Linda Ann Roberson Perrien, a woman of quiet strength and enduring grace, who passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024, at the age of 84. Born in Rome, Georgia, on December 13, 1940, Linda was the cherished daughter of the late Pat and Dannie Roberson, whose deep roots and unyielding values shaped her life in profound ways.
Linda’s journey was one marked by love, resilience, and an unwavering devotion to her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ralph L. Perrien, whose steadfast companionship and shared dreams defined their many years together. She also reunites in eternity with her brothers, Bobby Roberson and Bank Roberson, and her sisters, Margert Sisson and Rachel Roberson, a bond of siblings now restored beyond this earthly plane.
Linda’s legacy endures in the lives of those she leaves behind. She is survived by her son, Michael Perrien, and her daughters, Brenda, Kim, and Lorene, each of whom carry forward the lessons of love and perseverance imparted by their mother. Her grandchildren, Kaitlin Dodd, Blake Perrien (Madie), and T.J. Perrien, remember her as a guiding light, while her great-grandson, Aaron Dodd, will grow up surrounded by stories of her boundless affection. Her surviving brothers, Clyde Roberson and Cliff Roberson, will undoubtedly treasure memories of a sister whose kindness and steadfast nature anchored their family.
Linda was a woman who found joy in life’s simpler pleasures. For fifteen years, she served as a cook at the Gravy Boat in Rome, Georgia, where her hands crafted meals that fed not just the body, but the soul in a labor of love that resonated with every. Outside the kitchen, her heart belonged to her dogs, companions who brought her comfort and loyalty. Yet it was her role as a grandmother that truly illuminated her days, as she delighted in the laughter and energy of the younger generations who adored her.
Services to honor Linda’s extraordinary life will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Good Shepherd Funeral Home chapel, located at 3750 Shorter Avenue, Rome, Georgia 30165. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM officiated by Allen Fuller. Friends and family are respectfully asked to wear black attire, as a sign of solemn respect, and to refrain from taking photographs.
Though Linda’s hands are now at rest, the imprint of her love and devotion lingers in the hearts of all who knew her. In the words of the South’s poets, her spirit rises like the dawn over the hills, a reminder of the strength, grace, and quiet beauty she shared with the world.
