August 22, 1942 – May 31, 2024

 

Mrs. Linda Sue Roberson Mathis, aged 81, of Aragon, Georgia, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024. Born on August 22, 1942, in Floyd County, Georgia, Linda was the beloved daughter of the late Clyde Cornelius Mathis and Ruby Odell Kilgore Mathis.

 

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her son, Clyde Wayne Roberson, and her grandson, Christopher Wayne Roberson, Sr. She is survived by her ex-husband, Clyde Wilson Roberson; her son, Daniel Joe Roberson (Rhonda Adams); her daughter in law Mary E Roberson; her grandchildren, Daniel Joe Roberson, Jr. (Jennifer), Amy Marie Haynes (Dave), and Rene Roberson; and her great-grandchildren, Crista Cheyene Teem, Christopher Wayne Roberson, Jr., and Nevaeh Rose Roberson. Linda is also survived by her dear brother, Billy L. Mathis (Fonda) and special aunt Ruby Lee Curry.

 

Linda had a fulfilling career, retiring from Kroger where she was known for her dedication and warm interactions with customers and colleagues alike. She was a devoted member of New Vision Pentecostal Church, where her sweet spirit and love for people shone brightly. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was deeply committed to her church community.

 

Beyond her professional and religious life, Linda was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Her family was her pride and joy, and she treasured the time spent with them. Her love for her dog, Maggie, who was her loyal companion for nine years, was a testament to her nurturing and caring nature.

 

A celebration of Linda's life will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Linda's home located at 740 Gribble Rd. Aragon, GA 30104. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to New Vision Pentecostal Church, honoring Linda's legacy of faith and community service.

 

Linda Sue Roberson Mathis will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will continue to inspire and comfort those who were fortunate enough to be part of her life.
