From the dust of this earthly realm to the glory of the eternal, Mabel Jessie Stanfield has been called home. Born beneath the golden sun of Floyd County on July 9, 1936, to Paul Dodd Bishop and Jessie Mae Florine Hutchins, she walked the path of life with quiet grace, her heart ever open, her hands ever willing.

In Dykes Creek, Georgia, she built a life rich in love and purpose. On August 31, 1954, she joined hands with RT Stanfield in sacred union, and together they wove a tapestry of devotion that time could not unravel. Their love was steadfast, their joys shared, their burdens halved. Now, as time bows before eternity, she is reunited with her beloved, their souls once more entwined in heavenly harmony.

She was a mother whose love was a shelter, whose wisdom was a light: to her daughter, Tina Stanfield (Steve) Langford, and her son, Ted Stanfield, who journeyed to the heavens before her in 2016. She carried the joy of grandmotherhood, holding close the laughter and dreams of Torrie Twilley (Chad Twilley) and Jonah Moore (Katie Kirkham), along with many other grandchildren and great grandchildren who were blessed by her warmth.

Her brother, Bill Bishop, and her sister, Dot Carney, remain to cherish her memory, along with nieces and nephews who will speak her name with reverence in years to come.

Mae's hands found joy in the earth, her gardens blooming beneath her touch, each blossom a hymn of praise. She shaped beauty in her crafts, found peace in the gentle sway of her swing in the gazebo, and carried love as naturally as the breeze carries the scent of spring.

But most of all, she loved her “T.” And now, beyond the veil of this world, they walk together once more, hand in hand, beneath the golden glow of heaven’s morning.
