In Loving Memory of Manuel Thurman Pegg, Jr.
August 29, 1954 – March 4, 2024
Manuel Thurman Pegg, Jr., a beloved member of the Silver Creek, Georgia community, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024, at the age of 69. Born to Manuel Thurman Pegg, Sr., and Cordelia Bates Page Pegg on August 29, 1954, in Rome, Georgia.
In addition to his parents, Manuel is preceded in death by his brother, Sammie Pegg, and his sister, Geneva Sue Custer. He is survived by his wife, Doris Battles Pegg; his daughters, Samantha Pegg and Sarah Pegg; his stepchildren, Dakota Turner, Stephanie Turner, and Savannah Turner; his sister, Cordelia Lynn Ely; and his grandchildren.
Manuel was a man of many talents, with a love for craftsmanship and creativity. He built his own business offering carpentry services to home builders, where his skillful hands and innovative mind brought countless projects to life. In addition to his prowess with wood, Manuel had a green thumb and a passion for gardening.
Despite his many talents and achievements in civilian life, Manuel remained dedicated to his country as a proud veteran. His service was evidence of his bravery, determination, and unwavering commitment to protecting and serving his fellow Americans.
The family will gather to Celebrate his life on Saturday, March 9, 2024, with a visitation from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a graveside service at 3:00 PM at Pleasant Hope Church Cemetery.
Honoring Manuel’s selfless service to his country, his daughters will be presented with a United States Flag in memory of his bravery, determination, and dedication, provided by the Honor Guard of Shanklin-Attaway Post 5 of the American Legion.
Though he may no longer walk among us, Manuel's legacy of love, creativity, and dedication will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
