With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Maria Luisa Campos, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She passed away on January 21, 2024, at the age of 78, in Rome, Georgia. Born in San Miguel, El Salvador, to Tibursio Artiaga and Maria Alejandra Campos on June 2, 1946, Maria's life was a beautiful work of art encompassing devotion to her family, unwavering faith, and boundless love.

Maria was preceded in death by her loving parents and two of her brothers, Ramon Contreas and Noe Contreras. She leaves behind a rich legacy of love and cherished memories with her husband, Ismael Granados; her three sons, Jose Granado Campos, Oscar Granado Campos (Paula), and Abel Granado Campos (Odilia); her two daughters, Cecilia Chavez (Rudy), and Yesenia Soto (Fernando); her grandchildren, Jasmin Martinez, Carlos Chavez, Lucrecia Chavez, Cristian Martinez, Fernando Marinez, Edwin Chavez, Devan Chavez, Alex Granados, Gavin Granados, Rosy Granados, Adiel Granados, Jace Chavez, Jan Carlos Chavez, Gael Chavez, Daleyza Chavez, Christopher Chavez, Gabriel Chavez, Camilo Chavez, and Tiago Soto. Maria also leaves behind her brothers, Francisco Contreras, Elias Contreras, and Carlo Contreras.

A devout Christian, Maria was a long-time worshipper at Fuente de Vida Baptist Church in Rome, Georgia. Her love for singing in the church choir was matched only by her passion for living out her faith through acts of kindness and service to others. Maria's heart mirrored God's love, always open and sensitive to the needs of those around her.

Maria embraced the role of a homemaker with joy and pride. Her culinary skills, attention to a neat and welcoming home, and the warm embrace she offered to her family as they returned from their daily endeavors were the hallmarks of her nurturing spirit. She treasured every moment spent with her family, celebrating each milestone, big or small, with the same enthusiasm and love.

Her love for gardening was evident in her appreciation of nature's beauty and bounty. She often used her harvest to create meals that were as nourishing as they were delicious. Maria's role as a mother and grandmother was infused with grace, love, and wisdom, leaving a permanent mark on the hearts of those she nurtured.

A lover of travel, Maria found joy in visiting the beach, which was always one of her favorite escapades. Her vibrant personality shone brightest during outings with family and friends, and her trips back to El Salvador were occasions she treasured deeply. Maria lived her life with kindness, vitality, and an unending capacity for love.

Maria’s husband, Ismael, and her sons Abel, Oscar, and Jose will serve as pallbearers, guiding her on her final journey.

Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to live on through the countless lives she touched with her warmth and compassion.
