Mr. Mark Wilbur Vansant, 61, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024. He was born to the late “Mack” Vansant and Mildred Ida “Millie: Jenkins Vansant on June 8, 1963.

Mark is survived by his life partner, Chandra Vansant; his cherished son, Jacob Dee Vansant; his loving daughters, Brandy Vansant and Deanna Vansant; his adored grandchildren, Aiden Vansant and Lilith Vansant; and his brother, Tony Vansant. He was predeceased by his beloved sister, Kim Vansant and brother Jerry Vansant.

Mark was a true jack of all trades, mastering each with remarkable skill. His keen eye for detail and his intricately artistic style shone in every piece he crafted. He was a skilled woodworker, a proficient welder, and an exceptionally talented carpenter. Mark’s dedication to his craft and his exceptional abilities earned him a reputation for excellence in his field. His creations were not only functional but also works of art that reflected his meticulous nature and creative spirit.

A proud member of Union 515, Mark formed lifelong friendships with his fellow union members. He was known for his generosity, always willing to lend a hand or share his knowledge. His colleagues admired his work ethic, his attention to detail, and his unwavering commitment to quality. Mark’s contributions to the union and the construction industry will be remembered and appreciated for years to come.

Mark's love for the outdoors was a significant part of his life. He found peace and inspiration in nature, enjoying activities such as hiking, fishing, and camping. Weekends were often spent exploring the beautiful landscapes of Georgia, where he found solace and a sense of adventure. These outdoor excursions were a way for Mark to connect with the natural world and recharge his spirit.

Family was the cornerstone of Mark's life. He was a devoted husband to Chandra, with whom he shared a deep and enduring love. Their relationship was a testament to the power of mutual respect, understanding, and unwavering support. As a father, Mark was a guiding light for his children, Jacob, Brandy, and Deanna. He instilled in them the values of hard work, integrity, and compassion. His role as a grandfather brought him immense joy, and he cherished every moment spent with Aiden and Lilith. Mark's family was his pride and joy, and his love for them was evident in everything he did.

The family is in the process of finalizing the dates and times for services to celebrate Mark’s life. However, they have confirmed that Jacob Dee Vansant, McClain Plyes, Jake Plyes, Tony Vansant, and Buck Burnett will serve as pallbearers, honoring Mark by escorting him to his final resting place. Their participation is a reflection of the strong bonds Mark built throughout his life and the impact he had on those who knew him.
