In Loving Memory of Martha Jo McKibben Lorrens
July 28, 1939 – May 11, 2024
Martha Jo McKibben Lorrens, 84, a cherished member of our community, passed away peacefully at home in Rome, Georgia on Saturday, May 11, 2024, after a brief illness. Her unwavering love for her family and friends will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
Martha was born on July 28, 1939, in Polk County, Georgia, to the late John McKibben and the late Lillie Mae Davis McKibben. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy Lorrens; her brother, Melvin McKibben; and her sister, Mattie McKibben Griffis.
She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Ronald Walters of Rome; her adored fur-babies, Molly and Sassy; and numerous other relatives and friends who held a special place in her heart.
Martha chose the noble path of being a homemaker upon her marriage, dedicating her life to caring for her family with boundless love and devotion. She was a nurturing and compassionate mother, always putting her family first. Her passion for gardening and flowers brought beauty and joy to her home and those around her.
As a faithful member of West Side Baptist Church in Felton, Georgia, Martha’s spirituality was an integral part of her life. She found solace and strength in her faith and cherished the fellowship of her church community. An avid animal lover, Martha had a special affection for her four-legged companions, lovingly referring to her two dogs Molly and Sassy and also her two grand-puppies.
Martha’s family invites all who knew her to join them in celebrating her life at a memorial service on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the Good Shepherd Funeral Home chapel. The visitation will be at 3:00 PM and the service will commence at 3:30 PM, with Pastor Richard Brannon officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Parnick Jennings Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Martha’s legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Rest in peace, Martha Jo McKibben Lorrens. Your memory will forever be a blessing.
