Mary Leigh Brown
August 05, 1964- May 24, 2026
Mary Leigh Brown, lovingly known by many as Mary Leigh, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026, at the age of 61 in the hometown she cherished, Rome, Georgia.
Born on August 05, 1964, to Clyde C Gentry and Elizabeth B Washington Gentry, Mary Leigh was a proud lifelong resident of Rome. She graduated from Coosa High School and later attended Shorter University. Throughout her life, she was known for her strong work ethic, kind spirit, and the genuine care she showed to everyone around her.
Mary Leigh dedicated many years of service working at the City of Rome Courthouse, where she built lasting friendships and touched the lives of many through her dedication and compassion. Her family’s roots in the community also ran deep through their ownership of Garden Lakes Building Supply, a place that reflected the family values and connections she held so close to her heart.
Above all else, Mary Leigh loved her family deeply. She will be remembered for her warmth, gentle nature, quiet strength, and the love she shared so freely with those fortunate enough to know her.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Eric Brown; her stepson, Garrett Brown; her stepdaughter, Jordan Brown; her cherished grandson, Asher Brown. She was preceded in death by her dear father Clyde C Gentry and her beloved mother, Elizabeth Bettye Washington Gentry.
Mary Leigh’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
A memorial service celebrating Mary Leigh’s life will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, with Clay Gentry officiating.
Good Shepherd Funeral Home is honored to have been entrusted with the arrangements.
