Michael Millsap Obituary

In Loving Memory of Michael Franklin Millsap

May 29, 1965 – October 10, 2024

With deep sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michael Franklin Millsap, 59, of Dahlonega, Georgia, who passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024. Born on May 29, 1965, in Rome, Georgia, Michael was the cherished son of the late Aaron and Mae Millsap. Throughout his life, Michael was a beacon of kindness, generosity, and joy, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know him.

A devoted husband, Michael leaves behind his loving wife and soulmate, Chenoa Rhea Millsap, who was by his side through every season of life. Together, they built a beautiful family, which was the heart of Michael’s world. He is survived by his children, John Michael Franklin Millsap (Sara), Christopher Brown, Alexis Morgan, and Kristianna Brown, each of whom carry forward his legacy of strength, compassion, and love. His grandchildren, Brayden Millsap, Oakley Millsap, Micah Morgan, and Nova Nash brought endless joy to his life, and he adored them beyond measure.

Michael is also survived by his brother, Henry Millsap, and his sisters, Kathy Brinson and Michelle Champion, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories. His nieces and nephews were especially dear to his heart, and he had a remarkable way of making every family member feel uniquely cherished.

Michael was a man of many passions and talents, each reflecting the vibrant spirit that made him so beloved. He was an active member of Coosa Valley Praise and Worship Church, where he found solace in his faith and the fellowship of his church family. His love for music ran deep and Michael was a talented drummer who at one time played in a band, and the rhythm of his music touched the hearts of those who heard it.

He had a profound connection with nature and was happiest when camping beneath the stars, enjoying the simple pleasures of life. His love for the University of Georgia Bulldogs was legendary, and on game days, you could always find him proudly cheering for his team. Michael’s hobbies reflected his curious and creative mind, from collecting model cars to caring for his beloved animals, including his dogs and roosters, who were more like family than pets.

Michael’s affection for children was well-known, and he had a natural ability to connect with them, making him a favorite uncle, granddad, and friend. His boundless love for his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews brought him immense pride and joy, and they, in turn, were blessed by his unwavering support and adoration.

Above all else, Michael loved his family deeply and wholeheartedly. He was the center of countless gatherings filled with laughter, stories, and warmth, and his presence brought light into the lives of those around him. His smile, sense of humor, and infectious energy will be forever missed but never forgotten.
