In Loving Memory of Drew Hamilton

May 26, 1982 – October 8, 2024

It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the untimely passing of Drew Hamilton, a beloved father, son, brother, and friend. Drew, 42, of Plainville, Georgia, left this world too soon on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and love that will be cherished by all who knew him. Born in Rome, Georgia, on May 26, 1982, Drew was the cherished son of Cynthia Medley and the late Leslie Hamilton. He carried the strength, resilience, and compassion passed down from his parents throughout his life. 

Drew was a loving father to three children who were the light of his life. His sons, Braxton Hamilton, Zachary Hamilton, and his daughter Shianne Hamilton will hold tight to the memory of their father. Drew was a source of love, laughter, and wisdom for his children, teaching them the value of hard work, humility, and the simple joys in life. Drew’s relationship with his family was one of deep affection, sharing a particularly close bond with his mother. He was a loving and caring son, always by her side. 

A skilled heavy equipment operator, Drew took pride in the work of his hands. Whether he was operating large machinery or working on engines, he always enjoyed fixing, or building something. His passion for mechanics went beyond a career, it was a way of life. Drew was always eager to lend a helping hand, using his skills to assist neighbors, friends, or anyone in need. He found peace in the process of working with his hands, whether it was repairing an old car, taking apart machinery, or simply improving something around the house. 

Drew loved the outdoors and found joy in its simple pleasures. He also loved a good cup of coffee, which was a well-known part of his daily ritual.  

Though his time with us has ended, Drew's memory will live on through the lives he touched. His kindness, quiet strength, and love will never be forgotten.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation beginning at 12:00 PM. A service to honor Drew's life will follow at 2:00 PM, officiated by Reverend Joel Smith. Drew will be laid to rest at Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, surrounded by those who loved him most. Pallbearers include Brad Vincent, Matthew Vincent, Micah Vincent, Josiah Vincent, as well as Drew’s sons, Braxton Hamilton and Zachary Hamilton, along with his close friend, Brandon Carroll. Shianne Hamilton will serve as honorary pallbearer.

The family has chosen to entrust Drew’s final arrangements to Parnick Jennings Good Shepherd Funeral Home.
