Mildred Langford Obituary
Mrs. Mildred Harris Langford, age 94, of Rome passed away Friday September 4, 2015, in a Rome Medical Center.
Mrs. Langford was born March 26, 1921, in Bushnell, Florida a daughter of the late Rev. C.L. Harris and Nina B. Bearden Harris. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years and the Ladies Bible Class. Mrs. Langford was retired from Fox Manufacturing Company, she was a well known seamstress at Kessler's and owned her own shop at home. Mrs. Langford won an award in 1998, from the Georgia Baptist Children's Home and Family Ministries Inc, she would tell everybody God Bless You before ending a phone call. She was preceded in death by 8 siblings.
Survivors include her husband of 74 years, H. Langford, they had celebrated their wedding anniversary July 12. sons, Carley A. Langford, Rome; Edward (Aundrie) Langford, Rome; daughter, Ann (Gerald) Dunn, Rome; sisters, Joyce Kay, Fayetteville; grandchildren, Sherry Reich, Wayne Dunn, Elisa Bridges, Debbie Roberson, 8 great grandchildren several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday September 7, 2015 at Friendship Baptist Church, with Dr. Rodger Whorton, officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. on Sunday September 6, 2015 at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.
Pallbearers include the following gentlemen and are asked to meet at the church by 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Wayne Dunn, John Rice, Matt Maddox, Pete Roberson, Jonathan Bridges, and Timothy Bridges.
