On Wednesday, October 4, 2023, the world bid adieu to a beacon of warmth and tenderness, Milinda Jo Looney. Born in the historical town of Rome, Georgia, on November 8, 1969, Milinda graced the lives of her parents, Jerry A. Looney and the late Betty Sue Myers.

A woman defined by her ceaseless love and commitment to her family, Milinda's spirit remains undimmed in the hearts of her loved ones. While she joins her mother, Betty Sue Myers, and beloved sisters, Milissa Looney Clark and Becky Looney Rollins in eternal rest; her legacy lives on through her cherished family members: her father, Jerry A. Looney; her son, Josh Gowens (Chesney); her daughters, Miranda Chambers (Cameron) and Mirissa Snoddy; her adored grandchildren, Judson, Camden, Jaxon, Brently, and Alex; and her dear sisters, Faye Weeks and Samantha Kessler.

Milinda's journey on earth was marked by the gentle imprints of her dedication as a homemaker. Her unwavering commitment to the well-being of her family transformed their home into a haven of warmth and comfort. Her green fingers worked magic as her enchanting rose garden became the center of attention of many admiring eyes, echoing her aesthetic sensibilities and love for nature.

To say that she loved her grandchildren does not convey the depth of emotion Milinda felt for them. The twinkles in her grandbabies' eyes mirrored her radiant soul, a testament to the bond they shared.

Milinda simply adored her fur baby Holly, and Holly found an unyielding protector and friend in Milinda. Their tales of frolic and love mirror their boundless affection for each other. 

Her love story with David Nelson was one of cherished moments and deep commitment. An ever-helping hand, her generous heart touched numerous lives, turning strangers into lifelong friends. Her vivacious spirit ensured that everyone she met was wrapped in her warmth and friendship.

The family invites all to join in commemorating Milinda's illustrious journey on Friday, October 6, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Following this, her final resting place will be at the serene Eastview Cemetery. Chris Weeks, Dustin Weeks, Cameron Chambers, Anthony Selman, and Josh Gowens will honor her life as pallbearers.

In the annals of time, the name Milinda Looney will be etched as a symbol of love, grace, and boundless spirit.
