Nell McAbee Obituary
Mrs. Nell Walker McAbee, age 93, of Rome, passed away Monday January 18, 2021 in a local health care facility.
Mrs. McAbee was born August 6, 1927, in Chattooga County, a daughter of the Rev. P. L. Walker, and Dovie Mae Fuqua Walker. She was a devoted wife and mother and loving grandmother. Mrs. McAbee was active in her church and community, she loved her clients and coworkers when she worked as a beautician. Mrs. McAbee enjoyed camping, and the outdoors, she was creative and fantastic cook. She leaves behind 8 great grandchildren who loved her dearly. Mrs. McAbee was preceded in death husband, John Alton McAbee, son Wayne McAbee, sister, Ruby Mae Patrick.
Survivors include her sons, Ronnie (Joy) McAbee, Lee (Elaine) McAbee, daughter in law, Lori McAbee, grandchildren, Corey (Tonya) Rowland, Shane McAbee, John McAbee, Chad (Tracy) Leffel, Daniel McAbee, Rhonda McAbee Chris (Kyle Harshey) McAbee, Sarah (Zack Williams) McAbee, 8 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday January 22, 2021 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jerry Branton, and Rev. Dewayne Carver, officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers include the following gentlemen, Shane McAbee, Daniel McAbee, Corey Rowland, Zack Williams, Dewayne Carver, and Johnny Carver.
The family request that those who attend wear masks and practice social distancing, Thank-You.
