In Loving Memory of Olin “Jackie” Blackwood
October 27, 1944 – December 4, 2025

Olin “Jackie” Blackwood, age 81, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on December 4, 2025. Born on October 27, 1944, in Blount County, Alabama, Jackie lived a life defined by courage, dedication, and love. 

A proud Vietnam Veteran, he served his country with honor and was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery. After his military service, he built a respected career in masonry, shaping the world around him through hard work and skill.

Jackie was a man of simple joys and generous spirit. He loved to travel, fish, listen to music, and try new foods, always ready for a little adventure and always encouraging those around him to enjoy life fully. He was a Baptist by faith and a grandfather whose love was steady and unwavering. To his grandchildren, he was not just “Grandpa”, he was Pawpaw, a comforting presence, a storyteller, and a loving guide whose kindness shaped their lives.

Jackie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Angela Blackwood; his parents, William Blackwood and Maxine Huffstutler; his daughters, Micha Cornejo and Maranda Robles; his granddaughter Clara Robles; and several siblings.

He is survived by his grandchildren Modesta Dominguez, Anthony Redden, Yasmin Cornejo, and Sara Robles; his great-grandchildren Julian, Isaiah, Victoria, Annabella, Camila, Francisco, and London; his brothers Tommy and Michael; his sisters Marie and Elaine; and many extended family members who will hold his memory close.

SERVICES
A visitation will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 PM at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, with military honors at 7:00 PM to recognize his faithful service to our nation.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 PM Alabama time (2:00 PM Georgia time), with interment following at Centre Methodist Church Cemetery in Blount County, Oneonta, Alabama.
