In Loving Memory of
Patricia Ann Phillips Thompson
June 12, 1953 – December 12, 2025
Patricia Ann Phillips Thompson, age 72, of Rome, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2025. She was born on June 12, 1953, in Rome, Georgia, to the late Gordon Phillips and Mary Frances Phillips.
Patricia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was centered around love for her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred Thompson; her daughter, Amy Connelly; her brother, Gordon Phillips, Jr.; and her sisters, Liz Williams (Tim) and Nancy Phillips.
She is survived by her children, Scott Lowery (Amy), James Lowery (Jennifer), and Tina Rogers (Jimmy). She leaves behind many grandchildren: Marlee (Jordan), Gage, Dustin, Dylan, Mathias, Greyson, Kimbree, Kim, Josh, Roxanne, Stevie, and Mary Lou, as well as several great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by a large and loving family of nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
In addition to her family by blood, Patricia was blessed with dear friends she lovingly called her sisters: Stephanie Thompson, Betty Sue Erwin, and Doris Luallen, whose bonds of friendship meant the world to her. She is also survived by her sister, Gail Matthews (Jerry).
Patricia loved her family above all else. She was a woman of faith and found comfort and joy in singing at The Church of the Living God. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, often creating thoughtful gifts for those she loved, and she was an avid reader with a special fondness for books on spirituality and fantasy. Her faithful dog, Rokit, was always by her side and brought her great comfort.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time outdoors, especially panning for gold and metal detecting, always hopeful to find something special. Those who knew Patricia will remember her as kind, patient, and quietly strong, with a gentle spirit and a caring heart.
To honor her life, a visitation will be held Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 3:00 p.m. at The Church of the Living God, with Bobby Champion officiating.
Good Shepherd Funeral Home is honored to serve the Thompson family.
