In Loving Memory of Paul Headrick
December 2, 1933 – October 6, 2024

With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Paul Headrick, 90, of Rome, Georgia, who passed on Sunday, October 6, 2024. Paul was born on December 2, 1933, to French and Bessie Headrick in Rome, Georgia, where he spent a lifetime dedicated to hard work, and family. His presence will be deeply missed, yet his legacy of love, loyalty, and strength will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Paul’s career spanned over four decades as a skilled millwright at International Paper Company, where he diligently worked for 42 years. His colleagues admired his work ethic, and his friends and family knew him as a man whose hands were never idle. Paul’s commitment to his trade reflected his values—patience, precision, and perseverance. He took pride in his craft and earned the respect of many who worked alongside him.

Paul also proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. His service reflected the same dedication and humility that characterized every aspect of his life. He was a man of nobel patriotism, with a deep love for the nation he so faithfully served.

Family was the cornerstone of Paul's life. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Bobbie Jane Rogers Headrick, with whom he shared many years of love and partnership, as well as his son, Robert Paul Headrick, Jr., his brothers, Leonard and Blackie Headrick, and his sister, Edith Ray. While their absence created voids in his life, Paul found solace and strength in the family he held close.

Paul leaves behind a legacy of love through his surviving family, including his son, Dan Headrick (April); his adoring grandchildren, Josh Headrick (Jessica), Brandi Law (Justin), and Krystyn Headrick; and his sister, Marie Jones. His grandchildren were the joy of his life, and he spent countless hours supporting, encouraging, and cheering them on in their endeavors. He had a unique way of making everyone in his family feel special and cared for.

The family will receive friends and loved ones for a time of visitation and remembrance on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Alan Fuller officiating. Paul will be laid to rest at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens, where pallbearers, including his grandsons Josh and Jaxon Headrick, will honor him in a final act of love and respect.
