Phillip Jacobs Obituary

In Loving Memory of Phillip Edward Jacobs

September 12, 1961 – June 14, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Phillip Edward Jacobs, 62, of Rome, Georgia, who left us on Friday, June 14, 2024. Born on September 12, 1961, to Herman Shelton Jacobs and Louise Branton Jacobs, Phillip was a man of great skill, love, and dedication.

Phillip is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Jacobs, who stood by his side throughout their journey together. He is also survived by his brothers, Frank Jacobs (Diane), Jerry Jacobs (Jean Kay), Jack Jacobs (Shirley), and Bruce Jacobs (Kathy); his sister, Teresa Thrash (Tim); and a myriad of nieces and nephews who adored him. In addition to his parents, Phillip was preceded in death by his brother, Ladell Jacobs.

Phillip had an extraordinary talent for fixing things, a skill that served him well in both his personal and professional life. His innate ability to repair and improve anything led him naturally to a successful career in construction, where he applied his craftsmanship and creativity. One of his proudest achievements was building a bicycle from scratch, a testament to his ingenuity and passion for hands-on projects.

Beyond his professional life, Phillip found immense joy in fishing, a pastime that allowed him to connect with nature and find peace. He also cherished his role as an uncle, offering boundless love and support to his nieces and nephews. Whether he was mending their toys or imparting wisdom as they grew older, Phillip's influence was profound and enduring.

To honor Phillip’s life and legacy, a visitation service will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024, from 6:45 PM to 7:30 PM at the Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 10:00 AM, officiated by Pastor Jerry Cowart.

Phillip Edward Jacobs will be remembered for his generous spirit, his exceptional talent for fixing and creating, and his unwavering love for his family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Parnick Jennings Good Shepherd Funeral Home, ensuring that Phillip's final farewell is conducted with the dignity and care befitting his remarkable life.
