In Loving Memory of Phillip Orde McCollum

Phillip Orde McCollum, age 72, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on October 4, 2025. He was born on April 16, 1954, to the late James McCollum and Maxine Walker McCollum.

Phillip was a devoted family man who loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and four wheeling activities that reflected his adventurous spirit and love for nature. He was known for his strong work ethic and spent many years employed at Mohawk Industries before his retirement. Those who knew him best remember him as a hardworking man who found joy in simple pleasures and cherished time spent with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; James and Maxine McCollum 
beloved wife, Melissa Ann McCollum, and his son, Kenneth D. Brown two brothers; Jimmy McCollum and George McCollum.
 

Phillip is survived by a sister Sandra Suttles also survived by nieces and nephews, Rebecca Hilburn, Laura Wilson, Cindy Wilson, Lisa Wilson, and Penny Kisor,  nephews; Brent Reese, Cody McCollum, Clay McCollum, Christa Patton, Kyler Patton, Noah Patton, Kayla Patton and several more nieces, nephews and family members that loved and cherished him.

Grandchildren; Sumayah Conner, Alicia Sanguino, Zillah Fortner, Ava Hilburn, Destiny Fortress, Autumn Hilburn, Jerric Hilburn, and Zerric Hilburn.

Phillip’s funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, with Pastor Garry Quarles officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Oaknoll Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Jonathan Lowery, Carson Keen, James Cato, Brent Reese, Keith Shirley, Anthony Fortner, and Alex Barley.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
