Randall Brent Brownlow, affectionately known to his family and friends as "Randy” departed from this world on Monday, September 18, 2023. Born in Rome, Georgia, on November 26, 1978, he was the beloved son of Gordon Brent and Lisa Cordle Brownlow.

Randy is survived by his loving parents, his sister Brandy Shalaine Cannon, brother-in-law Ryan Cannon, his cherished nieces Annaleyse and Scarlette Cannon, as well as his grandparents, Jr. and Rosemary Haney and his special friend Brianna Mcnair. The close-knit family is left to honor his memory and preserve the joy he brought into their lives. He leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion and a life filled with a myriad of treasured moments forever preserved in the hearts of all who knew him.

Randy was a proud alumnus of Coosa High School and went on to earn an associate degree from Georgia Highlands College. Professionally, he was the heart and soul of LaScala restaurant on Broad Street in downtown Rome. Randy had the rare ability to make anyone who walked through those doors feel like they were stepping into a second home. His patrons will remember his friendly demeanor, meticulous bartending skills, and the special kind of hospitality that made LaScala more than just a restaurant. His genuine warmth and care made each patron feel like a lifelong friend and LaScala feel like home.

An intellectual at heart, Randy was an avid reader whose interests spanned a multitude of subjects, but he was particularly fond of science and physics. His knack for breaking down complex theories into easily understandable terms made conversations with him both enlightening and enjoyable.

Randy was a man who prized the bonds of friendship and kinship above all. Family gatherings were particularly dear to him, a place where he shone as a loyal brother, doting uncle, and cherished son.  Whether it was a holiday, a birthday, or an impromptu get-together, he valued these moments as opportunities to bond, laugh, and create everlasting memories with those he loved the most.

An avid hiker, Randy had a great affinity for the outdoors. The trails he walked were not just physical paths but spiritual journeys where he connected with the beauty and tranquility of nature. He thoroughly enjoyed capturing the beauty of the landscape that he so admired.

The family is holding a visitation to honor Randy's life on Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will take place at 2:00 PM. Both services will be held at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, located at 2750 Shorter Ave., Rome, GA 30165. Interment will take place at Oaknoll Cemetery. Dale Byars will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Cordle, David Bell, Ryan Cannon, Shane Coker, Jared Rogers, and Bo Cordle.

As we gather to celebrate the life of Randy, we also celebrate the lessons he taught us: to be kind, to be present, and to cherish the simple yet profound moments that make life worth living. His memory will be carried in our hearts as we recall not just what he did but who he was—an irreplaceable and never forgotten son, brother, uncle, and friend. May his soul rest in peace, surrounded by the love he so freely gave during his lifetime. He will continue to live on in the stories shared, the friendships cherished, and the family that loved him so completely.
