Raymond Newell Overby, born on March 20, 1942, in Rome, Georgia, passed on January 29, 2025, at a local hospital. Raymond was the proud owner and operator of Overby’s Exterminating for over 40 years, until his forced retirement in 2011 due to his Parkinson's diagnosis.

Raymond was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Atlanta Braves, and enjoyed spending his leisure time playing checkers, and engaging in various card games. His competitive spirit and love for friendly competition brought joy to many of his friends and family.He is survived by his loving son, Eddie Ladale Overby (Janet) of Lindale, Georgia, and son Gregory Alan Overby, along with eight grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Raymond also leaves behind his brother, Harold Overby.

A former member of the Dalton Elks Lodge 1267, Raymond held the position of Exalted Ruler, where he contributed to the community with pride and dedication. His legacy as a successful businessman and devoted family member will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
