Mrs. Rebecca Ann Powell
May 27, 1957 - December 26, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mrs. Rebecca Ann Powell, age 67, of Cave Springs, Georgia, announces her passing on Thursday, December 26, 2024. Born on May 27, 1957, in Marietta, Georgia, Rebecca was the beloved daughter of the late George Alfred and Willie Dean Powell.
Rebecca’s life was a testament to devotion. Her love for family, faith, and the simple joys of life shone brightly in all she did. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Jeff Vasser, Sr., and her cherished sons, Daniel Morgan of Douglasville, Georgia, and Lavon (Dawn) Hester of Dallas, Georgia. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Brittany (Travis) Evans, Dalton Hester, Dustin Hester, Isabella Morgan, Daniel B Morgan, Alexia (Dawson) Tate, Alex Howell, Abigail Howell, Anzleigh Howell and great-grandbaby Wrenleigh Hester. Rebecca is also survived by her brother, Danny Powell of Douglasville, Georgia.
She now rests in eternal peace, reunited with those who preceded her in death: her parents, her beloved daughter Jessica Howell, her brother David Powell, and her sister Pat Edwards.
Rebecca’s life was marked by a deep love for her family and a vibrant passion for the world around her. She delighted in the simple pleasures of life, from treasure hunting at flea markets and yard sales to gardening, cooking, and fishing. Rebecca’s heart was at home among the blossoms in her garden, just as it was filled with joy when she was surrounded by her family. Her adventurous spirit found happiness in sight-seeing and antiquing, while her playful nature found delight in a lively game of bingo.
Faith was the cornerstone of Rebecca’s life. A devoted Sunday school teacher, she cherished her church family and the abiding love of the Lord. Her unwavering faith was evident in the kindness and love she shared with everyone she encountered.
To honor her remarkable life, the family will welcome friends and loved ones for a visitation on Sunday, December 29, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Good Shepherd Funeral Home chapel, located at 2750 Shorter Avenue, Rome, Georgia 30165. A funeral service celebrating Rebecca’s life will be held the next day, Monday, December 30th at 1:00 PM, also at the Good Shepherd Funeral Home chapel, with Pastor Joey Ineichen officiating.
Rebecca will be laid to rest at Beech Creek Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Lavon Hester, Jason Vasser, Jeff Vasser, Dalton Hester, Dustin Hester, and Tony Hester in a tribute to the strength and love of the family she held so dear.
Rebecca Ann Powell’s life was a beautiful tapestry of love, faith, and joy. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know and love her.
Parnick Jennings Good Shepherd Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
