With profound sadness and boundless love, we remember Rody Omar Ronquio Rivas, who departed this life on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the age of 52. Born on July 18, 1972, in Quiriguá, Guatemala, Rody was the cherished son of Consuelo Rivas and the late Humberto Ronquio. His journey through life touched many, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and vibrant joy.

Rody resided in Rome, Georgia, where he built a life centered around family, faith, and community. He is survived by his devoted wife, Irma Guzman de Ronquio, whose love and companionship were the cornerstone of his life. He leaves behind his beloved daughter : Jocelyn Ronquio Guzman. Step sons Heber Guzman and Gerson Guzman, and a treasured granddaughter, Kailyn Barrios. His brothers, Armando Padilla and Erick Ronquio, and his sisters Mayra Radilla,Karla Salazar, and niece/sister Claudia Coffia will forever hold Rody’s memory close in their hearts.

A Life Rooted in Faith and Family, Rody was a man of profound faith, holding a deep reverence and humble awe for God that shaped his life’s purpose. His passion for serving others shone brightly through his dedication to work in missions, where he found joy and fulfillment in helping those in need. He was known for his generous spirit, always willing to lend a hand and share a kind word.

A Vibrant Personality with a Love for Life Rody’s zest for life was apparent to all who knew him. He loved to travel, finding his favorite retreat in the beautiful shores of Cancún, Mexico. His spirit was as vibrant as his wardrobe; he embraced tropical clothing and bold colors, reflecting his lively personality. Rody had a taste for good food, with a particular fondness for bread, savoring each meal with the same enthusiasm he brought to every aspect of life.

Career and Community

As a skilled forklift operator for VT Industries, Rody was respected for his dedication and work ethic. His contributions extended beyond his job, as he was an integral part of his community, always sharing a warm smile and a kind gesture with friends and colleagues.

Celebration of Life Services  

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Rody’s life and the memories he leaves behind during a series of services that will honor his impact and legacy.  

The initial visitation service will take place on Thursday, November 14,2024, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, 2750 Shorter Avenue, Rome, Georgia 30164. Additional Services will be held all day Friday, November 15, and visitation will be held at the church located at 300 Watson Dr, Rome, Georgia 30165, The burial will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 2:00PM at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. Pastor Ramiro Villeda will officiate.

Honoring Rody as pallbearers are Alex Rivas, Manuel Palada, Ramiro Villeda, Nelson Ramirez, Jorge Chavez, Edilson Ramos, Armando Padilla, Fredy Padilla, Damian Coffia, Heber Guzman, Gerson Guzman, and Hugo Villeda.

Rody Omar Ronquio Rivas leaves a legacy of faith, love, and joy that will forever be remembered by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. In his memory, may we strive to live with the same generosity, warmth, and devotion he embodied.

Con profunda tristeza y amor sin límites recordamos a Rody Omar Ronquio Rivas, quien partió de esta vida el domingo 3 de noviembre de 2024 a la edad de 52 años. Nacido el 18 de julio de 1972 en Quiriguá, Guatemala, Rody era el querido hijo de Consuelo Rivas y el fallecido Humberto Ronquio. Su viaje por la vida conmovió a muchos, dejando tras de sí un legado de fe, servicio y alegría vibrante. Rody residió en Rome, Georgia, donde construyó una vida centrada en la familia, la fe y la comunidad.

Le sobrevive su devota esposa, Irma Guzmán de Ronquio, cuyo amor y compañía fueron la piedra angular de su vida. Deja atrás a su amada hija: Jocelyn Ronquio Guzmán. Sus hijastros Heber Guzmán y Gerson Guzmán, y su querida nieta, Kailyn Barrios. Sus hermanos Armando Padilla y Erick Ronquio, y sus hermanas Mayra Radilla, Karla Salazar y su sobrina/hermana Claudia Coffia siempre guardarán el recuerdo de Rody en sus corazones.

Una personalidad vibrante con amor por la vida El entusiasmo de Rody por la vida era evidente para todos los que lo conocieron. Le encantaba viajar y encontraba su refugio favorito en las hermosas costas de Cancún, México. Su espíritu era tan vibrante como su guardarropa; adoptó ropa tropical y colores llamativos, reflejando su vivaz personalidad. Rody tenía gusto por la buena mesa, con especial afición al pan, saboreando cada comida con la misma ilusión que aportaba a todos los aspectos de la vida.

Como operador experto de montacargas para VT Industries, Rody era respetado por su dedicación y ética de trabajo. Sus contribuciones se extendieron más allá de su trabajo, ya que era una parte integral de su comunidad, siempre compartiendo una cálida sonrisa y un gesto amable con amigos y colegas.

El servicio de visita inicial se llevará a cabo el jueves 14 de noviembre de 2024, de 5:00 p. m. a 9:00 p. m., en Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, 2750 Shorter Avenue, Rome, Georgia 30164. Se llevarán a cabo servicios adicionales durante todo el viernes. , 15 de noviembre, y el velorio se llevará a cabo en la iglesia ubicada en 300 Watson Dr, Rome, Georgia 30165. El entierro se llevará a cabo el sábado 16 de noviembre de 2024 a las 2:00 p.m. en Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. Oficiará el pastor Ramiro Villeda.
