Sandra Elliott Obituary

In Loving Memory of Sandra Louise Dodson Elliott

August 12, 1943 - May 26, 2024

Mrs. Sandra Louise Dodson Elliott, 80, of Rome, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2024. Born on August 12, 1943, in Cleveland, Tennessee, Sandra was the cherished daughter of the late Emmett and Mamie Dodson.

In addition to her parents, Sandra is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy E. Elliott; her brothers, Jimmy Dodson and Harlin Dodson. Their memories remain forever etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved them.

She is survived by her devoted sons, Gary Elliott and Frank Elliott, who were the light of her life; her treasured granddaughter, Kira Elliott, who brought her immense joy; and her dear brother, Freddie Dodson, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and sister Katherine McNabb.

Sandra’s love for music, particularly country and southern gospel, filled her home with joy and comfort. She had a unique passion for collecting clocks, each ticking piece a token to her appreciation for the passage of time. An ardent animal lover, Sandra had a special fondness for dogs and cats, and her constant companion, an adorable chihuahua named Tinkerbell, was never far from her side.

Known for her exceptional strength of will and candid nature, Sandra was unafraid to speak the truth, oftentimes lending her wisdom to those she loved. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, as she became mom or nana to nearly everyone she met. Her unwavering love and generosity touched many lives, leaving a beautifully etched mark on every life she touched.

A celebration of Sandra’s life will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at the Good Shepherd Funeral Home chapel. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM, officiated by Reverend Jim Parker. Sandra will be laid to rest at Center Valley Cemetery in Chatsworth, Georgia.

As we bid farewell to Sandra, we remember her vibrant spirit and the love she shared so freely. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of kindness and truth will continue to inspire us all.
